Galacon - Cannis 5th Birthday Cakes

So, yeah, on july 30/31 once again the european My Little Pony convention GalaCon was held in Ludwigsburg, germany. Since it was the 5th birthday of the con and its mascot Canni I was honored to create a cake for that occasion. Each tier consisted of two layers soft and moist vanilla sponge filled with strawberry jam and a white chocolate butter cream covered in fondant. For the sugar ponies I had cutters made via 3D print. Everything but the sugar flowers and chocolate butterflies (those were bought) was handmade, even the fondant got its color by hand. Unfortunately I was only able to make a quick photo of the cakes back in the cold storage room. I was so excited to get on stage during the opening ceremony and cut the cake live in front of a 1200+ people audience; additionally it was streamed online!
The work and hours put into making the cakes totally paid off: all VIPs, sponsor ticket holders and most of the volunteers got a piece of cake and said it was delicious. I was so relieved after all had gone and no one complained.
